The Gurl So Blue

I know it to be true, that it is only you.

The only one who could see the girl; the girl so blue.

You stare at the mirror, full of hate.

Your vision blurry, you can’t think straight.

Your life so miserable, you can’t go on.

And then, a new solution has dawned.

Your life has no purpose, you seem to think,

So that it could easily be dealt, within a blink.

You chose to end it, no second thought

Thinking it was all for naught, not of the pain it brought.

Not thinking of the other lives

Of their pain, or who might survive.

You give no effort to continue to live,

Not to you, to forgive.

You blame others and take it upon yourself

No longer that little kid who believed in fairies and elves.

You feel trapped, as if in a cell.

You’ve locked yourself in your personal hell.

Again you have no one to blame,

And only now do you feel the shame.

It’s now you try your best to change,

But now you can’t and it feels so strange.

By now it seems that it’s too late,

And forever will you bask in this hate.

You stare into the looking glass,

Again and again, you continue to ask:

Was this how my life was to be? Was this Fate?

How, oh how, could it be too late?

And though you know that the questions are useless,

You continue to guess.

Your time to change is now too late,

And your consequences are now great.

Say farewell to those you’ve mistreated,

Soon, in a new place, you will be greeted.
