Sweet Bitter Lies
Nobody can help or call
Knowing why the caged bird sings
Hurt badly with an injured wing
Wanting escape from ourselves, our pain
Injured though, our battles in vain.
If no freedom will come,
Then what will we become?
Rebel all we want,
Freedom only taunts.
Escape, though we try,
These sweet bitter lies.
No truth will become of this.
Trapped in a deep abyss.
No escape, though we still try,
Of these sweet bitter lies.
No one to help us, we're on our own.
Hatred inside us, now plainly shown.
And who are we to blame for this?
But ourselves, whom none will miss.
